Review summary
We left Sept 26 on the Emerald Princess for a day Mediterranean cruise. We were supposed to sail the end of July but Princess asked if we would be willing to go in Sept. and they upgraded us to a balcony. This worked out very well for us. The weather was not as hot as it was during July & August. Also, there were only about 20-30 children on the ship which made for a peaceful voyage. I like children but sometimes this kind of trip is too much for them. The ship is very large & holds 3000 people. We did not feel overcrowded as the amount of people seems to flow very well. The ship is decorated beautifully & I especially liked the Piazza. We used the any time dining restaurant , Michaelangelo, & find that much to our liking the last several cruises we have been on. The food was varied to meet the large number of nationalities that were on the ship. They had 6 different language menus to meet that need. Many of the food items were unusual to Americans & I did hear complaints but you have to take the entire ship's population's needs into consideration. There were many choices to suit all tastes.Pros: Interesting ports of call
Cons: rude and pushy guests
