Review summary

Being Royal Caribbean Diamond level cruisers, it took several years to convince my husband to take a Disney cruise. We were not disappointed! The food was great. The service and attention to detail were classic Disney. Even the excursions were of great quality.

I'm an avid Disney cruiser. Been several times on each ship. I'm married with no kids. Did Disney first then went to Carnival and hated it. Food on Carnival tastes like bought at Sams club or Costco. Talent in comparison was not even close shows on Disney were truly Broadway caliber. To go from Magic or Wonder to Fantasy or Dream is great the other way is sad. Overall, DCL gets my business 3X year

Consider what you like. Family friendly movies, water slides, adult only areas, quiet time, Broadway style shows, casinos, character greetings, etc. Then go from there. I've been on 2 DCL ships - 7night on Fantasy and 5night on Wonder. By far, the staff is awesome, some of the guests, not so much. Some of the "Adults" were worst than their kids. Fantasy ruined me for Wonder (older ship).

My good friend went on RC last year, we have been on 2 Disney cruises, she said it doesn't even compare to her, and that she won't go on anything but Disney again. So excited because we are booked for a 7day in January.

My husband and I don't have kids and we are planning to do our first cruise. I am so confused and don't know what to choose between the Disney Fantasy or Royal Caribbean's Oasis ships. I love Disney but the Royal Caribbean ships look awesome. With all the reviews I just can't decide. Do you have a recommendation? Thanks!! :)

I love disney alot I have only been on disney but if you haven't been on a different cruise line then you really don't know what to expect

We have done 7 DCL cruises. I totally agree with other posters. Our first cruise was Disney and we don't even consider any other cruise lines and don't plan to 😄.

That is what I did the cruises are very fun

I always said once you do a DCL cruise, nothing else will do! They ruin you for any other cruise line. And if you do DCL as your first cruise, you don't even look at another cruise line! Lol

Before sailing with Disneu, we were loyal to RC for 15 years.

Sure, I agree. If RC was a new company that would be totally fair. Besides, how hard is it for staff to smile and greet customers, ask how an excursion was, or just make eye contact? We are blessed to be able to pay a little more to be treated with that little bit of Disney magic.

With disney you have to look at the company disney has had practice before the cruise business and RC has so disney just transfered it over

Food wasn't as great, either.

The ship was older and shabby, which we could have excused. Bottom line is, Disney has built their reputation on OUTSTANDING customer service and RC didn't come close.

Why were you disappointed with RC

roses21745    8 years ago

We were loyal to RC too until our 1st Disney cruise. Went back to RC once and were so disappointed. We're Mickey's from now on!
