Review summary

The Diamond Princess ship is a beautiful ship. Everything was clean and neat. The steward was wonderful. The waiters in our dining room were excellent. The food was prepared as if we were at a 5 star restaurant. I recommend the assigned dining room - you will like having the same staff. They call you by name and are very efficient. We enjoyed the Vivalde Dining Room. Of course, the International Dining Room can be used at any time and it was excellent too.

It would be nice if the ice cream was left out later in the day. My husband is a diabetic and he found sugar free desserts that he could eat. We were pleased.

You can find something to do all day and late at night.

Our only son is in his middle 20s and he enjoyed parties and mingling. The shows on board are wonderful. We especially liked the musicals and the magic act.

There is still smoking allowed on board. They are allowed on the outside deck next to the pool, casino and a cigar room.

We weren't in our room very often. We had an Oceanview stateroom and was satisfied with it.

Pros: Well organized staff! Great food

Cons: Smoking allowed in certain areas
