We recently sailed on the Costa Pacifica from Barcelona on to Palma Mallorca, Civitavecchia (Rome), La Spezia (Florence & Pisa), and Marseille.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food was excellent, particularly during the dinner. Absolutely no complaints on the meals!
Entertainment
3 out of 5
My wife and I really like listening to live music, and there's no shortage of it on Pacifica. Also, the evenings shows were quite good, particularly the guest performers they brought on: a singer Marta Llenas, a magician, and a circus duo the Donnert Duo.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Like many cruises, the stateroom stewards are wizards. Our steward Benjamin was incredibly nice and the room was always spotless. The restaurant waiters were also excellent. The only subpar staff was at the excursion desk. We had three cancellations or changes, one of which left us with no alternative or time to find a replacement, and they offered very little in the way of apologies or help. Apart from that, the rest of the staff was top notch.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship is a larger-sized vessel compared to the Costa Classica, our previous cruise with Costa. I found it very tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and there were plenty of places to relax, have a coffee or drink, or take in some entertainment. I was particularly impressed with the library, which on many ships is quite tiny but on Pacifica was a magical place to curl up with a book for a few hours.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We stayed in an oceanview room port side, and it was roomy and impeccably clean.
Pros: Visiting the incredible cities and the delicious meals on the ship
Cons: The somewhat limited shore excursion options and cancellations
