Review summary

This cruiseline was top notch 15 years ago. Imagine our disappointment this time around. The morale of the ship staff was horrible and rightfully so. Make sure to read the fine print. They charge an additional $7 per day per person for gratuity to the staff. From what the staff said, they rarely see any of it. What happened to the day when you had the option to tip the people who provided you with good service?

Most every staff member we encountered on the ship freely shared their uhappiness with the management. Apparently they were placed under contract for lengthy periods based on the Euro. Management then changed their pay to American currendy and did not adjust the rate to account for the difference between the two. Meaning the staff was making 70% of what they had signed up for. When they tried to get out of the contracts the cruiseline wanted them to pay to get out!
