Review summary

THe Costa Classica is an older ship but well taken care of. The cruise was good value for the money. The service was excellent and the food catered to the nationalities of the passengers. I would have preferred more local cuisine from the countries we were visiting so that we could sample a little of the local culture. All in all, it was a very enjoyable cruise.

THe big bus tour is a must because it gives you an overview of the entire city and you can get on and off at the different stops.

WE loved this port. It had a European flavor with Middle Eastern architecture. Very charming waterfront and local market.

Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

Interesting place. Lots of development. We went into the desert and went sand boarding. It was fun.

Bahrain

Interesting also. Since it is next to Saudi Arabia, I can see why it is popular. Western people come here for freedom. It is developing rapidly.

THis place is a waste of time. Nothing to do but go to the local LuLu supermarket. It is not charming and very industrial. I would skip this stop.

Pros: The itinerary was very interesting

Cons: Although the food was good, there was no local cuisine from the countries we visited
