Review summary

First time on Celebrity Cruises but won't be the last

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Due to board between 1130 and 1200, but as we had completed most of checking in online the process took 15 minutes from arrival to 1st beer aboard.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was plentiful and nice. The oceanview cafe (buffett) was spacious but I am diary intolerant and the labels where small and you felt like you where holding up the que trying to look, i couldn't find anything that was diary free, even my go to vegan option was not available. The MDR was more successful. They where very friendly and helpful. We also upgraded to the premium drinks package, best thing we did.

Sushi on Five

5 out of 5

Pay per dish. The waiter was very helpful and friendly and gave good advice regarding my food intolerance, would definitely recommend.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pool areas where popular as the pools where a good size, not just a splash pool. There was always something happening on board but the weather was lovely so finding a sunbed was as active as I got.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Matthew McGurk illusionist was fantastic, good if you have children. The ships cast of dancers and arielists were fantastic. The comedian unfortunately was NOT funny we lasted 10 minutes before it looked like we where the only people left.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service we had was fantastic. The bar staff where a little under pressure but still smiled. Big shout to Lewis our cabin steward very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Also Arya and Mykola in The World Class Bar very talented cocktail makers and made us feel welcome every night.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was easily navigated, good signage through the ship. Everywhere looked clean and there where crew cleaning all day. We did notice up on deck, the clearing away of discarded food and general cleaning was sometimes not up to the standards of the rest of the ship. The promenade deck is completly blocked by the life boats so there is a lot of wasted space that on other cruiselines has been utilised with more seating. I did notice there are a lot of smoking areas, nice for smokers not so for none smokers as they seemed to be in prime outdoor locations.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
7102 oceanview. Lovely spacious cabin and very large bathroom with the added bonus of a shower door rather than a curtain. Downside: mooring lines and bow thrusters VERY NOISY. Ok when you leave Port early but we left at 230am, quite a shock to the system. Also the layout is side on and right at the front of the ship, so if like me, your prone to seasickness it can be a bit of a rough ride.

Ship tip

Premium drinks package is a no brainer.

Ports of call

Amsterdam, Netherlands

5 out of 5
We did a river cruise excursion and it was brilliant. The waterways where very busy due to it being lovely weather and a Saturday. The guide was very informative. Would recommend as it was only 1 and half hours so plenty of time to do your own thing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again well organised, we had a disembarkation time of 740 but a member of crew said we could get off earlier and just collect our luggage from the shed on the way through as it was all ready. Cleared and in the car by 730.
