Review summary

If you are looking for a beautiful ship with quality entertainment, well-maintained staterooms and good service, this is it!  You will find the Silhouette excels in those areas.  If you are into food and don't want to pay extra for specialty dining, you will be challenged.  The main dining room food and service is subpar and specialty dining is very expensive on Celebrity.  We would sail again on Silhouette but, would budget in specialty dining when comparing cruise fares.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining room food is subpar. Food is our hobby and we were completely disappointed. It is as though they really want you to pay extra and eat in the specialty restaurants. The Porch (specialty) is a hidden gem and Sushi on 5 (a la carte) is very good. Also, surprisingly the buffet was quite good. However, the main dining room is supposed to be a high quality experience and it was more like a college cafeteria.

Onboard Activities

This is a calm ship with a variety of activities. Many of these activities are not really activities but, shopping sales. They do need to focus more on quality activities and less on showcasing the sales.

Ship Quality

Beautiful - well maintained ship. Most areas look like they are brand new.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Storage is sufficient and room is clean and a good size (as is the balcony). However, the bed was very uncomfortable (hard) so I had to have an egg crate put on. The pillows were bad (and I even had them bring the options from the pillow menu). This is all a personal preference as my husband loved the bed (but, not the pillows). Also, I prefer the couch near the balcony and this particular stateroom had the bed by the balcony. The stateroom is almost dead center of the ship and there was no movement at all.

Ship tip

The Porch and their seafood tower is a hidden specialty dining gem (only $30pp). Also, Sushi on Five is a fantastic a la carte priced restaurant. In addition to good food, both have GREAT service.
