Review summary

Overall the Flora and all of the Excursions on all of the Islands was Spectacular. We met a great deal of nice people who were so excited about biding the Galápagos Islands. The major Flaws were the toilets that would not flush and the floor drains in the bathroom overflowing. We travel Celebrity quite often and the Employees and Management did not come up to the Celebrity Standards. All employees need to be adequately trained before they come on the ship to serve the Guest. We all paid Big $$$s to go in this cruise and most of us felt we did not get the Suite Service we were told to expect. The food quality was Not up to Celebrity Standards. We had huge shrimp one night and they were mushy and taste terrible. I had the Executive Chef come to my table and take the shrimp away and see the problem. He returned and told me the shrimp were bad. He never replace them or brought me something else. These staffing & food quality problems can be easily solved with proper management.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food Service was terrible. First night we did not receive our main course for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Never received our salads and wine was not served. I opened a bottle and poured red wine for the tables around our table. Food quality was nothing special and not hot.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Basically there was no onboard activities. You spent all of you time on the fabulous excursions

Service and Staff

The local experienced workers left the ship the day we boarded the ship. The new workers were not trained and not experienced. Terrible situation. The dining room worker did not understand Celebrity Service. It got better the last night. Too bad as this was sold as a All Suite Cruise of a Life Time. Not so.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Our Toilet had flushing problems almost every day. This was the 4 cruise of the Flora do these Problems should have been worked out. Our bathroom floor drain overflowed one night. The ship was really nice but had many mechanical problems.

Cabin / Stateroom

Suite size was adequate and was kept clean

Ship tip

I would not book a Cruise on the Flora for the first 6 months due to lack of employee training. Excursions were Fabulous

If can remark on the Onboard Activities. This vessel, an most vessels like it, are really about the destination, not the onboard activities. The Flora is simply the place you eat, mingle & drink, poo, and lay your head at night. The activities are in the land excursions, which you acknowledge as being excellent. The Flora is just your floating hotel. Although, the food, service, and plumbing should match the price you paid.
