Review summary

For the most part this was a wonderful cruise. However, I think Royal is probably more our speed. We found the guests to be very mellow and they would plant themselves all day in the grand atrium making it almost impossible to enjoy that area and the coffee area. That being said, the ship rarely felt crowded and that included the pool and solarium areas which were stunning. We had a great time and will cruise celebrity again.

Embarkation

Easy peasy and we were shocked how quickly we were on the ship. Best and easiest embarkation we have ever had so far. I wish they had embarkation photographers as we normally live that. But one of the staff was kind and took one of the family on the gangway.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The buffet was the best one we have ever experienced. However, there were times we literally could not find a table. Once the weather got chilly it seemed everyone wanted to eat on the buffet. We ate at Blu, which for the most part was excellent. We tried Tuscan on our last night and honestly it was not good at all. But the specialty dining of La Petite Chef and Eden were excellent and highly recommended. We tried the Eden cafe for lunch and it was just not good. I wish they had more fast casual options as on the 10 day cruise I was wanting something different and I really didn’t care for their style of pizza. Overall the food was good and it’s really just a preference issue.

Onboard Activities

We were off the ship for the first five days enjoying ports but we did really enjoy the charm giveaways in the mornings and we loved the giant pool and beautiful solarium.

Entertainment

We really enjoyed the Hawaiian show and Will Martin and the Divas. The singer in the grand atrium was also great! The regular cruise ship shows were very cruise ship typical and not our preferred style of entertainment, but that’s just personal taste. The magician comedy show was really good!

Service and Staff

For the most part the staff was amazing. Except in guest services. We had issues with my step dads internet so we went guest services and when the guy found out we were celebrating his 80th bday my dad was told he would get a special dinner and balloons and cake and he made a big deal out of it. We never asked for any of that but thought it was wonderful. It was never given. We later went to guest services over another matter and my husband mentioned what happened and was told they would give just my mom and dad a dinner…which was fine and my dad was looking forward to it. We were later told he would not be given a dinner and only a cake in the room. Why offer it if you’re not going to follow through?

We were upgraded to the spa cabins and they were beautiful. Our shower was amazing…although it did back up twice during the cruise.

I was on the same cruise you were and enjoyed myself also! I loved Celebrity. I found the food was very good, the entertainment was awesome, and the ship was spotless and beautiful. Unfortunately, I came home with COVID and I know it was contracted on the ship because I was symptomatic the day we were disembarking. Pretty brutal end to a lovely cruise, but I'm glad I didn't get sick the second day I was aboard!
