Review summary

A wonderful, relaxing cruise — and Celebrity does so many things so well. I just wish they didn’t try to be so Woke and Artsy.

Embarkation

New terminal, speedy process. Parking in a nearby structure was crowded and not as convenient as at other ports, but it only was $15 per day.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was for the most part excellent. Occasionally though, there were items in the buffet that were not warm.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We are not fans of the acrobats / aerial performers, and we wish Celebrity didn’t force-integrate them into all possible stage shows. Live musicians quite good (but we missed some string ensembles).

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The entire complement was friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

Spotless. When compared to the Solstice class design, more hits than misses. Love what they did to the “atrium” area, much better. Love the way they moved guest services and shore excursions out of that area. The “Gateway” design is wonderful compared to other ships. We finally got used to the infinite verandah, and it wasn’t locked up all that often. The hand washing stations are a brilliant idea. Staterooms were nice — the improved bathroom door is alone worth the price of admission. Jogging track: Brilliant. Rooftop Garden — very nice, pity you have to pay extra for the food there. Also love the high windows and new seating arrangements in the Oceanview. “The Club” is a great new secondary venue. Now for a couple of misses: Eden is a colossal 3-deck waste of space for the most part, with a magnificent ramp that leads ... nowhere. The Blu restaurant is now pretty much landlocked with only a poor partial view outside, and the acoustics in there are terrible. The ambiance was better in the other 4 MDR offerings. The Persian Garden improvements didn’t rip us out of our easy chairs.

Disembarkation

They put Eden to good use as the waiting area for self debarkation.
