Review summary

Hate cruising out of LA. ————————————————————————-

Embarkation

LA Sucks! Access, parking and hike to the terminal was horrendous. Once in the terminal, everything was as expected. Rating is due to LA part not Celebrity’s service.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
I’ve experienced the slow decline of food quality and selection over the years but, now the service in the main dining room has slipped a few notches. Ended up closing out the cruise in the Oceanview cafe.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Other than the main dining room.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Cannot give less than a single star rating but all of the forward facing cabins on the 7th deck are unacceptable. As I stated in my trans Atlantic Reflection review, there is so much noise from mooring line winches, bow thrusters and anchor chains that sleep in impossible. Celebrity should pay us to stay in any of these cabins!

Ship tip

Do not book any cabin that is forward facing and on the 7th deck.

Disembarkation

Again, rating is due to the LA location. Had to walk about 15 minutes with all of our luggage. No assistance or shuttle available. We paid our $20/day fee and drove back to San Diego.

Make sure you do not check the box for automatic upgrades. This is a trap to take your carefully chosen room with an upgrade in “class” and get rid of undesirable cabins. Once they make the change you can’t go back.

Thank you for sharing. We really enjoyed Mexican Riviera cruise.

Our first experience with forward facing cabins on the 7th deck was a result of Celebrity upgrading us. The second experience was due to son and daughter in law wanting us to be the babysitters in an adjoining cabin. I explained to them the issues with these cabins prior to our departure. They agree this location is far from desirable.

Oops sorry 😞 thanks

If you already know about the noise issues in this kind of staterooms, why have you chosen the same location?

Sorry this was not the best experience.

Geez. I had no idea it was the noisy up there! We always stay in the aft. Might have some vibrations but very tolerable!
