Review summary

Great cruise with interesting ports. We had been to all of them but almost 40 years ago.

This was the 2nd half of a back to back cruise

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were Aqua class and we had our best Blu service ever, and that’s saying something.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We only had 1 sea day so our ship activity was minimal. We enjoyed the Solarium pool and spa very much.

3 out of 5
Being a back to back cruise most of the entertainment on the 2nd cruise was a repeat of the first, or other Celebrity cruises we have taken. The Celebrity Orchestra under the direction of Big Mike was the best one we’ve ever heard.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Made, our cabin steward was exceptional. Kudos also to our Blu waiters, Juan & Vaibhav, maitre d Martin, Blu hostess Alina and Blu sommelier Ahkil.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We love the Celebrity modern look and the wonderful art throughout the public areas. For a ship due for “revolutionizing” the Eclipse was spotless & well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great mattress, and very clean at all times.

Ship tip

Go Aqua Class to get into the Blu Restaurant

SF port right on the Embarcadero. We took the SF City Tour with Dim Sum Lunch. Lunch was disappointing, otherwise good tour.

Monterey, California

Another lovely city. We took the 17 Mile Drive, Monterey and Carmel City Tour which was excellent.

Catalina Island, California

Cute little town. We took the Avalon Scenic Tour which was certainly scenic and literally breathtaking.

San Diego, California

Toured on our own. We took the SD Green Line train up to Old Town.
