Review summary

Last minute booking while we were in South America. A good cruise but a lot of families. Also while all the local passengers were super friendly the language barrier stifled the atmosphere a little.

Packed terminal, disorganised queues. Busses to ship and more lines in the sun.

Food and Dining

Wow in 2 years things have slipped. Mdr started very poor but improved over the cruise. Burgers were average compared to HAL. Le Petit Chef a gimmick. Murano very good but too much up selling.

Onboard Activities

Giuseppe the CD was very upbeat and held lots of activities. Pools were packed with kids. Loved games on the lawn. Plenty of trivia.

Entertainment

Average compared to past cruises.

Service and Staff

Staff were polite and hard working but lacked the energy of previous X cruises

Ship Quality

It had been a longtime since we sailed on Solstice class and it was still stylish and spacious. Love the lawn. Aged a bit. Would like a promenade to walk around

Cabin / Stateroom

Spacious cabin with balcony. Towels were threadbare and had to beg for bathroom to be restocked.

Ship tip

Use the lawn and don’t miss the silent disco.

Doing my 1st X cruise on this ship in November. I've been pretty excited but this review is somewhat sobering. We purchased the 3 night specialty dining package. Wondering if we should switch to two night and skip La Petite Chef/Qsine. The show looks "cute" if a bit gimmicky... but I've heard the food is pretty great...
