Had a wonderful time. We were celebrating our 40th. Had informed our agent and also informed Celebrity, however, unfortunately, they did absolutely nothing to help us celebrate. Our room steward found out and did a little something for us, but nothing else happened. Funny as they ask you in advance if you are celebrating anything and then when you tell them nothing happens. But that's okay because we still enjoyed the cruise anyway.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Nothing unusual, about the same as most ships. They are obviously limited by what the terminal can offer, but other then the waiting, we were happy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
For the most part we were pleased with the food. I cannot say that they were substantially above other lines. We enjoyed the food and it was delicious, but don't feel it was better by far than other lines. Our only real disappointment was their ice cream products. They were manufactured on board and every time we ordered it or had it on the ship, you could tell they had used non fat milk solids (more commonly known as powered milk) which was somewhat oxidized which we felt ruined the taste. That would have to be our biggest complaint. They also didn't really have much along the lines of Hawaiian cuisine, even though this was an Hawaiian cruise. There was only one day, a luncheon buffet, where they named a lot of things Hawaiian, but was nothing more than an addition of pineapple to the dish. I. E. Hawaiian Baked Beans or Hawaiian Rice, etc., etc. We loved the Q'sine restaurant where they featured Le Petite Chef. That was a very enjoyable evening. Very entertaining.
Onboard Activities

We didn't participate in a lot of the activities so unable to comment. Good library.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We were somewhat disappointed in the production numbers on this ship. The performers were definitely talented. Great voices, great dancers. However we were very unhappy with the content. Rock City, which was supposed to be paying homage to "rock anthems", we didn't recognize the majority of the songs they used. We conversed with many other passengers who seemed to agree. Each said they recognized about 3 out of ten, same as us.
The individual acts like the magician, comedian, solo artists were also great. The live band, when used, was also fantastic. But again, the production numbers were just a little out there.
Children's Programs
no children with us
Service and Staff

our room steward and our waiters were fantastic. Always willing do whatever it took to make us happy.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
We loved the ship, its design, its decor, its layout. Plenty of places to curl up with a book on a sea day, or to just be alone.
Cabin / Stateroom

Pretty much a normal cabin. Since the ship didn't have a self serve laundrette, we would have appreciated a clothesline in the shower, but for whatever reason, this ship didn't have one. Never had that happen before. One a 12 day cruise sometimes you gotta wash a few things ya know?
Otherwise a pretty typical cabin, with closet, cabinets, a small fridge, safe...all the normal things you would expect....except for a clothesline.
Disembarked here and went over to the other side of the island for a couple of days. Had a wonderful day and the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie. Incredible experience if you can do it.
We are sailing on the Eclipse in June for an Alaskan cruise. Your review if the ship is very helpful since we haven't sailed Celebrity before. Congratulations on your 40th! If I were on your cruise, I would have celebrated with you! You are so spot on about ship staff, so I can only guess you treated the staff with dignity and respect and you received great service. That is a lesson for all cruisers and you are a great example of it.
We had the same experience on Celebrity regarding a celebration. Told them it was a trip to celebrate our 5 yr wedding anniversary. Nada. They never acknowledged it in any way.
