Celebrity Constellation Cruise Reviews - Reviews

I was very disappointed in this cruise.  It was the first on Celebrity though I have taken numerous cruises on other lines.  The ship was clean and had all the needed amenities.  The biggest letdown was the food - not only were the selections limited and unappetizing, but the portions were extremely small.  Maybe that was a good thing as the food wasn't that tasty.  I even sent one dinner back!  The entertainment left a  lot to be desired - it is of a much higher quality on other ships.  There were not that many activities to participate in during the days at sea - free time is nice, but it's better to have choices.

We arrived at the pier and after a brief wait for porters to tag our bags (I didn't print out my bag tags early enough online and had to get them locally...a rookie mistake), we proceeded into the "rats maze" of the line to pre-board the ship.  It wasn't to long and it was very well organized.  We were given our room keys and were immediately allowed to access our rooms (We were on deck 6 portside forward).  Our bags were already there awaiting our arrival!!!   We put things away and proceed to the US Coast Guard mandated "abandon ship" location.  From that point on, it was easily the most relaxing vacation I've taken in years!!

The crew was friendly and attentive. Meals were wonderful in the main dining room (San Marcos). The specialty restaurants (Ocean liners and The Tuscan Grill) were easily some of the finest meals I've ever had the pleasure to eat.  Ocean liners "Lobster Flambé" was to DIE for and Tuscan's "Grilled NY Strip" rivaled Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!!! And if you didn't feel like a "sit down" dinner, Ocean view Cafe had a great breakfast as well as lunch and dinner!!

If you drink alcohol, there certainly was NO shortage of bars on the ship to quench your thirst.  But be warned!! If you do not purchase a drink package, your bar bill will be shocking!!! Not even a bottle of water is free aboard ship ($4 U.S).  I did have a "Classic Alcohol Package" for my wife and I and it included most beer that the average consumer would drink and all of the non-call drink (Daquiri's, Margaritas etc) but if you wanted a Jamison and water, THAT was not included!  The children each had the "Premium non-alcohol Package) and everything was covered!.

Entertainment was excellent. My wife and I attended shows every evening in the theatre on deck 4/5.  The musicals were pretty well done and the comedian (Troy Thirdgill) was outstanding.  My wife partook of some bingo while underway and I played Texas Hold 'em in the casino.  The two elder kids just did "teen stuff" and by all reports, had a great time. The youngest child (5) was a frequent member of the "Fun Factory" where they provide age appropriate activities for kids. She too had nothing bad to say about her experience.

Shore excursions were...well, to each their own. I stayed aboard in Cozumel as I believe if you've seen one Mexican seaport town, you've seen them all.  My family went on the dolphin adventure and had a great time while I stayed busy on board just relaxing and napping!!  Key West is....well, Key West. If you've been there before, not much has changed (unless the last time you were there was 1972).

Debarkation (Leaving the Ship) was a bit of a mess. They want you out of your stateroom by 0830 which is fine. We all understand that the staff has to prepare for the next group of guests.  But, the ship asks you to go to the theatre and wait...that's it...just wait.  We arrived in the theatre at 0830 and basicaly sat there with NOTHING to do but wait (our departure number was 30 and they began as 1).!!  Ok, so we are all in a theatre...how about some news? An old movie, maybe? SOMETHING to keep me/small children entertained???  Once our number was called, we left the ship only to be herded into the terminal where again, we sat and waited for permission to get our bags.  After waiting 30 min or so, we retrieved our bags and then were herded into another "rat’s maze" to clear customs (which really makes NO sense as our point of entry into the U.S. was Key West!!). Of course, it being a Saturday, there were 3 customs agents for 3000 guests but it really didn't take that long and all they wanted to see was our passports (Darn, I should have brought back a "square grouper"!!!). 

All in all, it was still an enjoyable experience and I will take another cruise again someday soon...and it will most likely be on a Celebrity X vessel!!!

We needed a vacation after a long year of recovery from two fractured ankles. Celebrity took great care of me. We celebrated our anniversary in style and comfort. My husband pushed me in the wheelchair provided all over Nassua and Key West. 

The service, the food and everything was wonderful. We would Definetly consider the Constellation again.

i was very happy with my room, excelent room service, i was very please with the food, the shows overall very happy i will not go againt because i paid to much for soda coca cola $46.00 for 5 days other cuises i take my own or paid $20.00 for 5 days

clean, attractive, well organized

Did not like having to give a card for water and soda. Did not so much mind it when ordering alcohol. Think wine extremely overpriced for some options and also martinis and margaritas too limited on the classic package. Loved the balcony room. Lounge chairs on balcony comfortable and you were able to lay them flat.

Lovely ship with lots of space on deck. This ship has been updated with lots of neat spaces to sit, bars to try, and art to see. Good for families or couples looking to have a more refined cruise experience.

Good cruise.  Not much to do for kids 12-15 ages.  Relaxing.  Pool was awesome.  Waiter Greg and Jorge at table 102 were awsome.  Loved the cruise ports.

Since the very first moment on board you get treated like royalty. Very friendly crew, delicious food and variety of cocktails and drinks. Room service is the best,

Overall it was an excellent experience. We prefer to travel on some of the new ships, but it was kept well, and neat

This is a very pretty ship but ready for renovation. The bathrooms are TOO small and we were surprised the suites were as small as they were. Our room staff and Butler were great. Food was okay with exception of speciality dining (which,of course, costs more). The food was out of this world in the speciality dining...it really shouldn't be that way...maybe different but not so much better...the main dining area was attractive and the service was fine but we were not impressed. All in all it was a nice cruise but I think we perfer Holland America.

Great cruise, we had never been to Cozumel or Key West before. Cozumel was good but we really enjoyed Key West.

Great cruise. Very relaxing. Timing was perfect with one day at sea and the next at a destination.

we had a wonderful time. it was very relaxing. the ship is very very clean and the staff were all willing to please. food was everyware but could be a little more yummy, but we did not starve gained 4lbs. would do it again in a flash.

Overall Service is Excellent. Pool service was great except they needed more workers. Food in all venues was Great. They were cleaning and working on the ship all day. Everyone was very alert to give all vacationers hand sanitizer.Had a wonderful time and will go again.

Our expectations were not met. We are Diamond Plus with Royal and Celebrity does not give the \"Royal\" treatment to Elite Status guests AND we were in a suite to boot!

I was so excited to cruise Celebrity after having cruised Carnival.  I went with a group and we paid extra for the concierge service.  Concierge service?  I guess that was an apple and a pear for 3 people to share for 5 days.  Disappointment!  The balcony rooms were small.  We had to climb over the bed to get to the balcony.  Disappointment.  The head overflowed.  Called to report, came back to the room and the floor was soaked.  Reported again.  That night, the head overflowed.  Reported 3 times before someone came.  Food was awful.  Service lacked.  Not doing this one again.
