Review summary

Overall very disappointed in the ship, food and service. It’s sad to see all the cut backs across the brand as it has always been one of our favorites. The ship is gorgeous but that is pretty much where it ends. We will have to think long and hard about going on Celebrity again.

The food and service throughout the ship was TERRIBLE!! Some of the worst food I’ve ever seen on a ship and I was embarrassed we invited 30 friends to go with us.

Not a super active ship but enough to do if you like trivia and other mundane activities.

Overall the staff seemed overworked and cutbacks across all service areas were very apparent. Most staff seemed tired and this was a brand new ship. They seemed like they couldn’t care less…not the usual warm and friendly service we’ve had on last sailings/ships.

The ship is beautiful but all the cutbacks are VERY apparent. It’s really sad that such a great brand has slipped so much!

Cabin / Stateroom

Absolutely hated the Infinite Balcony!!! The heat from the sun bears in the window making it hot as hell so you have to close the shade. Might as well be in an inside cabin! If you want to open it the window for fresh air, then you loose all the AC out of the room and it takes for ever to cool off again! The bathroom was spacious and nice and there was ample closet space and storage!

Are you sure you were on the correct ship? I sailed on Ascent last month and was so completely impressed that I will be be back aboard her in April. My favorite ship!

Was on the Beyond on Dec.one of my best cruises ever out of about 28.Can't imagine the Ascent was that bad.Things that make you go Hmmmm.

I find it hard to believe your review. I sailed on the Ascent, and it was amazing! There was so much going on. Luigi, The CD, was awesome with so much energy. The food was top-notch, as was the service. The shows were out of this world amazing. Maybe you'd be better off sailing on Carnival or MSC!
