Review summary

Although I enjoyed the cruise and the route of it, I think the cruise can improve significantly in their activities and especially improve the elevators because they are very small and had to wait a long time for them to arrive. The specialized dining rooms are very small and on the second day there was no possibility of separating any date and time from the 6 cruise days. I've been on other Carnival cruises where I've had a lot better time.

We were on the Vista in December and the steakhouse and Jiji's were booked full the whole 8-days. The steakhouse said they had been booked solid for more than six months in advance. Don't know if that was just for December or if thats normal for them. I know i had requested a reservation five months before our cruise date and didn't get any response. I thought we were good to go but found out that if you don't get a response within 48 hours it means your reservation was not approved. I think thats a bad way to do it because it was our anniversary and we thought we were going to celebrate with fine dining. Ended up eating in main dining room. Very disappointed with that.

Love the Vista! You can book online for the specialty restaurants before you go on your cruise that way you are ensured of getting in! Your cruise is what you make of it so many things to do on the Vista you will never get bored!

Thanks for the feedback Bonninpili and Pappasmurf22. Looks like a beautiful ship. My group and I will be cruising out of Miami on the Vista in September. Hopefully by then they'll show some improvements.

I agree with you bonninpili. Its a great ship in many ways but just doesn't seem to have that "Carnival" feel that the other ships have. The specialty dining areas are too small for such a large passenger capacity. Also, the quality of the food at the free (included) food sources seems to have been deliberately altered to drive you to the specialty dining restaurants. Not considering another Vista cruise anytime in the foreseeable future. The crew and accommodations are wonderful as always. Not sure which cruise route you had but the definitely need to drop "La Romana" from their itinerary.
