Review summary

The general attitude was "this is our last month". Victory will be going in for refurbishment in March. Sadly, the crew allowed that to negatively influence the CARNIVAL experience. There was no incentive for them to represent Victory well...they should have STILL provided the best possible CARNIVAL cruise! The ship, although old, was clean and very well maintained. Entertainers and entertainment staff still owe it to the cruisers to provide "razzle dazzle" instead of "ho hum". Very disappointing...

Embarkation

Fast and efficient!! Much less waiting in line than on previous cruises.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Service in the main dining room was "ho hum" at best. Waiter mixed up orders and was NOT attentive to his diners. He was NOT personable nor cordial. Food quality...except Guy's Burgers...was the absolute worst I've ever experienced.

Irish Sea Piano Bar

5 out of 5

Donald is very talented and went out of his way to keep the crowd revved up!

Atlantic Dining Room

Sad, sad dining experience! Worst dining staff I have ever seen...EXCEPT Cindy Lui!!! She was the only one making an effort!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Activities were sparse but OK.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Bare stage with just three chairs for "Love and Marriage" game. Bare stage with just a table and three chairs for "Mentalist" show. NO frills, no stage dressing. Shows, again, were just "ho hum"...going through the motions. Donald at the piano bar was AWESOME!! Band in the casino was awesome!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Komang, our cabin steward, was excellent! Other staff throughout the ship just seemed disinterested in being there.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Small ship...ready for overhaul.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cheapest cabin class onboard...we were on a family cruise and I intentionally chose a cheap cabin to keep down overall cost. My 1A cabin was EXCELLENT!!! I was pleasantly surprised with the size, amenities, and comfort!! Both my other cabins were upgraded free from 4B to 6B! Thanks Carnival!

Ship tip

If you are a first time cruiser, DO NOT let Victory influence your opinion of Carnival!!! This was THE WORST Carnival experience I've ever had.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

Not a lot to see/do. The Conch Train Excursion was very informative.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy.

Sorry for your experience with the staff. Hopefully you won't experience that on future cruises

I'm sorry but what you thought was not the crew acting like it was their last month it was the crew thinking we already have our gratuities we don't have to be nice.
