Review summary

The beginning of our cruise started terribly. After standing in line for 45 mins and being the next to be serviced Andrea(blondeish hair) approached me and told me the line was closed. That the safety drill would be beginning shortly. After I expressed my frustration about waiting in line and being the next and knowing that after the muster drill guest services would be crazy. She told me it is the rules and that guest services was closing. Of course I expressed my frustration after waiting so long and she began to argue with me. Saying it’s the rules and she could do nothing. I am aware that once I left that line I would be standing in another hour long line to do the same thing I was already there for. She shrugged her shoulders and said she could do nothing and I was so frustrated I had to just walk away. She approached the group behind me and after engaging with them i turned aroun d. I wanted her name. She was incredibly rude and expressive with attitude rather than understanding and i wanted to make sure to let someone know. When I went back i discovered that group that was behind me now being taken care of at guest services. Are you kidding me! I got her name and walked away. When we came back after muster I was talking about my situation to the young lady in front of me and Miguel approached me asking first if i speak Spanish and then informing me of his knowledge of my experience earlier. He asked what i needed at guest services and if there was anything he can do. I told him i needed to add a credit card to one of my cabin mates account and if he could make it so i did not have to wait in this line again i would appreciate it. He looked at me and say there was nothing he could do and walked away. Why did he come over if he was aware of my situation and then do NOTHING? I felt like he singled me out because i was talking about the terrible situation from earlier and he just wanted to quiet me. I decided that very minute that I haven’t sailed with carnival since 2004 and it will be at least that long the next time because why spend my money with a company that treats consumers like this. After the poor experience with our room steward situation ITS CONFIRMED! I will continue traveling in my favorite form, cruising, just not with Carnival Cruise Lines.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Wayan and Ongela in the main dining room were excellent. Without them we would had a completely different experience. They deserve 8 stars. Very disappointing to only have only so so pizza to choose after 9p with long lines.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pools were very crowded with lots of children wearing life vests. Serenity was a nice area but people had their own speakers playing loud music. I would have preferred it to be a more serene area.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Lexi in the piano bar was amazing!!!! She was incredibly talented and vey entertaining.

Service and Staff

Wayan and Ongela in the main dining room were extraordinary, two thumbs up and 8 stars! I was very disappointed in our room steward. On our first night he said he cleans in the morning 8 to noon and in the evening 6 to 9, which would i like? I was taken back. Part of a cruise is having a steward tidy your room in the am and get your room ready for bed usually with a wonderful towel animal. Since when do I have to choose? I chose 8 to noon so our room wasn’t touched that evening and when we came back from the morning to do’s our room wasn’t touched. I had to call housekeeping and spoke to a young lady about my room that wasn’t attended to till late evening sometime:(

I understand that things go wrong on vacation but come on now. That is about the dumbest rant I've read in a long time. I dont think people will care if you stick to your other cruise line and your attitude seems like someone that wouldn't have fun no matter where you go.

You can still have your room made up on both morning snd eve. Just tell them. Yes you need to tell them on first day. Same with the bath robes.

This doesn’t make sense. The friend would be required to add a method of payment at check in.

Some people feel they must complain about everything. This person was Not the only person affected by the circumstances, but felt it necessary to complain about it and everything else. Next time take a different cruise line, or even better, drive to your destination so others are not subjected to your negative attitude

It is always announced that all onboard venues will close either before or at the time of the muster drill. It's unfortunate that you were in the GS line when that happened. Lines are long on embarkation day. As for the party behind you at that time getting served first after muster, you are out of gas. They got there before you when GS reopened. There's no resume the line expectations.

This has all the makings of a fake review just to bash the cruise line. No previous cruises listed, has a ridiculous comment about Cozumel not having many shops. Bashes everything about the cruise line.

They make the announcements very clear and often about disembarking. It's on the TV, over the PA, in the fun times papers, racks with luggage tag numbers out, not sure how you missed it. Why does anyone need the room cleaned twice a day? I don't understand that. Who cares? It's too bad you didn't enjoy your cruise.
