Review summary

The crew service was not what I would have expected it to be at all! No one seemed inclined to help you, especially at the bar! The long lines for getting a drink made no difference to the employees as they took their time. Possibly even understaffed for the amount of people on the cruise. When on vacation you don't want to spend a majority of it just waiting to get a drink, or wait in line for food for that matter.

The food on this cruise was AWFUL. I had to send meals back a few times from the dining room, granted the staff was pleasant. The best food on the entire ship was the pizza station and the omelet bar for breakfast. But be warned that if you wanted to eat at the buffet you would be standing in line for a ridiculous amount of time.

Another negative to this cruise was this whole "beautification" thing. Since the boat did not leave port until 6pm we did not get to Nassau until much later in the day then we would have which cut out on the amount of time we had to visit the island. And because this was a Live concert cruise, you had to be back to the ship even earlier in order to make it on time. So really you didn't even get a full day to spend anywhere besides the boat.

I had a great time in general but that was on no part because of the cruise staff or the food!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

AWFUL. Being with others who have been on Carnival cruises before, also agreed that the food on this cruise was less than acceptable.

Service and Staff

RUDE. Inconsiderate. It seemed like not a single person working on this ship was helpful. On one exception- Elliot (dancer/blonde man) and the cruise director were the two best things this ship had.

The cabin was great and surprisingly roomy for three people to share. The man who tended to our stateroom was also very nice, decorating the mirror wishing my friend a happy birthday.

Kahutchings, that's what I said, I was surprised by the refrigerator because all the other carnival cruises I have done the balcony rooms had them. I had taken it for granted that they were a given, like having a bathroom in the room, I got over it quickly and had a great cruise. I now take a cooler with me just in case this happens again. Just got off the sunshine and everything I read said it would not have one but it did. Just need more than the provided ice bucket to keep the drinks cold in the room. Love carnival..:-)

Thanks, @kahutchings...

Please don't let anyone put a damper your cruise, because they did not have a good experience..I've been on over twenty cruises with Carnival, and different ships, and have yet to have a bad experience...stuff like not having a refrigerator, you could have checked on that before the cruise...I mean they tell you they don't put irons in your room. .there are thousands of people in the boat..expect a wait..but it is not ridiculous...your not talking hours of waiting but a couple if minutes...if your a new cruiser, please expect the unexpected, because sometimes itineraries change, due to weather or things out of their control...Fun is what you make of it..don't sweat the small stuff!!

Went on the victory last year and had an amazing time. Its what you make of your vacation that matters, so dont let minor distractions on the ship spoil your fun. Kick your feet up and enjoy!

I'm hoping all goes well on my cruise. We leave May 29th. My first cruise. Reading the posts and taking in all kinds of information I can.

We did the victory last year and had a great time. My biggest surprise was no refrigerator in my room but once I got over it everything was wonderful. Don't let somebody else's disposition dictate how you would enjoy your cruise. Some folks are hard to please, some folks just like to vent, but if there are 3000 cruisers on the boat only a select few complain. Everybody else had a good cruise.

Oh, no! I go on my first cruise in July.... Hopefully my experience will be better....

Same here. I will not go back on the Victory. I loved the Dream, Liberty and Sunshine but the Victory needs help. Make sure you call carnival, I did!
