Review summary

The ship's decor was rather outdated and the staff not very knowledgeable about anythin outside of their area. I had a special priced massage treatment that was horrific at best. Then they tried to overcharge me on top of it. They didn't do all of the treatment so after that was done I had to waste more of my cruise the next day to come back to finish it. The shower was covered with this dark mold stuff all over the curtain. The pursers desk was a nightmare and they were very rude when asked questions. Room service got EVERY order made wrong and one morning we had to wait 2 hours for coffee, then they brought us BLT's instead. They did finally bring us coffee. It was clean other than the spa shower and the bartenders and my cabin steward were very friendly. I cruised the Mircale in July and the experince was so much better. This was quite a dissapointment after sailing with them. I was rather shocked since I would have though Carnival would have trained all their staff the same

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was ok. I was upset that they had the menu wrong on the interactive TV so that the night i wanted to eat in the main dinning room I missed and was told I wouldn't be able to get that food. On the Miracle they told me I could have the steak every day if I wished. My waiter barely spoke to me and I don't think I ever saw him smile once. They served penne pasta so many times that week I can't even look at it anymore

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The entertainment and activities were ok except they didn't keep people very motivated or well informed. An example of this was pajama bingo. I was the only one who showed up in P.J.'s When I said something to the staff they told me they had just found out themselves and wished they had time to change. So not even the people who were running it wore their P.J.'s That was pretty much how the whole cruise went

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
My cabin steward and there was one bartender that was off the chart on the scale of one to ten. Half of the rest said hello in the halls but that was about it. The other half were downright rude. The staff at information were so rude I couldn't believe it. I decided not to ask anything else and jst wait to get home to write Carnival about my experince it was so bad

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is rather large but it's mostly dinning rooms. The public areas are clean other than the spa shower. I was kind of surprised that my cabin that they said held 3 people was so small considering it was a balocony. But my cabin steward kept it looking like a million bucks no matter what!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Other than the size the stateroom was nice. I loved the location at the very back of the boat where you could see everything for miles on both sides of you. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and it was always kept very clean.

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We didn't do the regular tourist stuff here. We had a personal tour guide. I recomend if you can find one when you first get off the boat in the port to do it. We got to see the "real Jamaica" not the too bad areas but we got to go shopping wheren the Jamaican's shopped not the tourist shopped even though we did a bit of that too. We went into neighborhoods and to the jerk "tent" where again the Jamaican's get there jerk. We also were taken to the rain forest and the falls. It was the best of both worlds and worth the money we spent.
Don't Miss: I think there is a lot. I fell I need to still go back and see more. Jamaica offers so many different things that there is something there for everyone.

Miami, Florida

Just another busy american city. We only stayed the night but it was ok. We stayed at the Fourtune House. I would recomend getting your hotel online though. We paid $100 and when I called to ask them how much they wanted for a room they told me $209 so i was pretty grateful for the internet

George Town, Grand Cayman

3 out of 5
If you like to explore and shop this is the place to be. But don't go looking for good deals since there aren't many of those to be found here. Then again after enough rum cake you don't even notice that (ha ha)
Don't Miss: I really liked the glass bottomed boat. I'm afraid to scuba or do a submarine so this suited me well and the staff was very helpful and informative

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
I love this place. I think the shopping is so much fun. Once you go to town by the beach that is. I mean the shopping at the port is ok but it is sooo much better in town and you can get better deals also. And nothing can beat that one hour massage on the beach for $20
Don't Miss: Massage on the beach and let them pamper you at the bar areas on the beach you WILL get spoiled

Pros: I loved the stops. Costa Maya is the best. Jamacia was a new stop for me but was also wonderful

Cons: The ship and the spa. The spa was terrible with mold or something all over the shower curtain. The boat is outdated and the staff was not very prepared (excluding my cabin steward who was WONDERFUL)
