The Carnival Venezia is a beautiful ship with many places to sit, relax and enjoy the views. The enclosed Lido deck allows for enjoyment of common area no matter the weather. We traveled during cooler temperatures, so we can’t wait to travel in warmer climates to enjoy more of the outdoor seating which there is no shortage of. We loved our cruise and have nothing to complain about.
Embarkation

Quick and organized embarkation, despite heavy rain. We arrived for 11AM appointment time and we’re checked in and onboard within 15 mins. That was our fastest embarkation ever.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate most meals in the buffet. Read many reviews saying Venezia buffets were the worse, but we did not find it to be bad. We didn’t like they way some of the foods were prepared, but that didn’t stop us from getting plenty of good meals.
Canal Grande Restaurant

Service was good but wait for food was long. Food was delicious and proportioned well. We had our fill with a single entree.
Bonsai Teppanyaki

Great dinner and show. We loved our chef “Erick” who did a great job with the presentation and food preparation, even though he said it was his “first time” and he was “very nervous” LOL.
Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

Excellent service and good meal but I’ve had the reverse experience on other ships.
Bonsai Sushi

Great! Always a winner. We loved the “restaurant” style.

Entertainment

Totally enjoyed passenger participation shows “Family Feud Live” and Family Feud audition. We also loved “Love and Marriage”. With audience participation, you never know what you’re going to get. Comedy shows need to always be in a larger venue because they draw larger crowds. Expect to line up 30 mins in advance. I was glad they cleared the room after each show so people waiting had a chance to get in.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The Carnival staff is always very attentive and helpful. We were greeted and ask if we needed assistance by nearly everyone we encountered. We truly appreciate all that they do and we speak to them and let them know how much we appreciate them. However, it felt kind of strange to not be greeted by our cabin stewart at every encounter by our first names. It think it was around day four that we realized he was quietly calling us by our last name.
Ship Quality

Beautiful!! The layout takes some getting used to, but once you familiarize yourself with the ship, you’ll find many treasures.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice size cabin and up to date amenities. Mini frig keep our items nice and cool. The television allowed for HDMI connection so we could play movies saved on our device (no streaming). Cabin is located near steps, elevators, and Lido, but at no time disturbed by traffic noise.
Ship tip
Watch videos on how to use smart elevators before boarding the ship to cut down on confusion. Also, get off the ship and see some sights, even without purchasing excursions.
Disembarkation is always hectic, but Carnival has a system that works if people would follow directions. Disembarkation began at 7AM for express/carry-off. We were in early group one which started letting us off at 8AM. We were off the ship in 10 mins.
Thank you so much for sharing!!! I took a ship tour and I knew we hand to call the elevator by how many ppl in the party. I got the only bombastic side eye and unexpected comments from people who were waiting “forever”….they kept going “ ….and another press….and another press…”. I said loudly to my colleagues that in order to get a proper elevator you need to let it know you need to move X amount of people. Otherwise the elevator is only expecting one person. I digress lol!
