Review summary

Avoid as the disembarkation is horrible and the people on the ship are ignorant! Teens pushing and shoving, line cutters. A long-time Carnival cruiser no more

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Slow and crowded but more of an issue with the NY port building rather than Carnival.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
It is 10:30 and still on the ship! This is the second time disembarking g the Venezia is a complete disaster! Carnival needs to get their act together. Also, the passengers need to follow instructions

Retired Ray, had same exact issues on same ship out of NYC one week earlier and it was an 8 day cruise.

Holly, once off the ship you are then under the the "control" of non-Carnival employees. But while on the ship, carnival is 100% in control of allowing people to disembark before they are supposed to. Carnival can also control the environment on their ships by stop giving away so many free cruises.

IMO disembarking is the #1 thing Carnival isn’t good at. Embarkation and Debarkation are the most stressful things on a cruise. Every Carnival ship I’ve been on debarking is chaos. Doesn’t stop me from cruising though.

I agree with retired ray

I've heard that a lot from this NY embarkation. Plus, the time of year you will have this problem more. I'll take Port Canaveral any day.

Unfortunately, those 3 and 4 dayers tend to get a bit less than friendly passengers. My philosophy is (barring unforeseens) is to wait in the buffet until the last minute to avoid the ruder passengers. Works if the port is ok.

Embarking and debarking are on the port and staff there, which are not Carnival employees. Also if people would learn to be respectful of others again, that would help a ton. However, Carnival cannot control that either
