We bought Disney cruisers on their first Carnival cruise this month. Their unbiased opinions were that Carnival was much much better across the board and it cost them less than 1/3 of what they paid on Disney. I also enjoy Carnival much more than Disney. So much more relaxing.

I find it so funny how people will do something like a Disney cruise for example (dont get me wrong I'm all about wdw), but then do a carnival cruise and complain how much of a let down it was. Nothing was to their standards. I try to tell them "How you get what you pay for". You can not compare apples to oranges. Its Macy's verses walmart. Personally I think for the price that carnival is awesome for a inexpensive cool fun getaway.
