We had a great time despite some of the things we saw. Please just be kind to one another, your kindness goes a long way. You’re on vacation relax and make lasting memories with your family. Don’t try to do everything listed in your FunTimes because you’ll just make yourself tired.
Embarkation

Port of NOLA is extremely fast with getting you in. We parked at the port which cost $90 for 4 days. Getting through check in is extremely fast. The workers are a bit pushy with getting you through, but they have to keep the line moving. It probably took us maybe 15 mines to get through. Our check in time was 12-12:30 and we got on the ship by 11.

Food and Dining

We ate in the main dining room, buffet, blue iguana, and guy’s burger. All the food was great! We did not encounter cold or bland food. Yes some things needed salt and pepper but you do that anywhere. The only thing I didn’t care for was the honey bbq wings from the room service menu. The tasted like it was a mustard base sauce which through me off. Other than that I stayed full the whole cruise!
Onboard Activities

My son and husband used the pool and hot tub, they seemed to enjoy it. My daughter used the sauna and steam room she said both were as expected.
Shogun Club Casino

By far one of the worst casinos I’ve used with carnival. We play a lot and the payouts our far and few between. We booked doing the slots/blackjack tournament. We arrived to our room with our lanyard and drink card waiting for us. My husband I believe placed 6 in the slot tournament and won $800. We won a few other times but the machines are extremely tight. Casino did comp our party of 5 steakhouse selections in the main dining and gave us strawberries one night. On other ships we’ve gotten specialty dining and wine throughout out cruise.
Entertainment

My daughter did the shows with her friend she said that they were all really good. We watched a pre show in the atrium and it was good. DJ out on the lido played good songs too.
Service and Staff

Our waitstaff and room stewards were simply amazing. They all went above and beyond to make our trip relaxing and memorable. I did however encounter workers throughout the cruise that didn’t really respond if I said hello or even acknowledge me with a smile. This didn’t alter my trip in anyway.

Cabin / Stateroom

Standard interior cabin. Air does not blow hard so room was warm. Mini fridge did not seem to keep our sodas cold only cool. Room was clean when we boarded. Did feel a lot of movement in the front of the ship.
Ship tip
Remember that you have to go out of the Mississippi River so you do feel the turns that the ship makes. Relax and be kind to others, we’re all vacation!
Very quick getting off the ship just like when we boarded. Staff did rush you off but you have to remember the next group is waiting to get on. It probably took us 15 minutes to get off and into pour car.
I had a really great time on this Cruise! Everyone I encountered staff wide was pleasant but the only one that really went out of the way was on the serenity deck and his name was maikol. I am definitely looking forward to my next cruise! I am sad to hear that you saw people being rude and not polite or kind.
