Review summary

We have sailed on the Valor before and the ship is a nice ship. The food was the most disappointing because we have had much better food on all of our other cruises, including on this ship.

Embarkation

The New Orleans port traffic was very unexpected. It took us over 1 hour to move 2 blocks to get into the port parking.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The 3 stars was solely because of Scarlets Steakhouse, Guys Burgers and Blue Iguana, they were all very good. Other than that the buffets and main dining room was equivalent to school cafeteria food.

Alchemy Bar

Loved it. Ask about the Mixology class, we had a blast.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Main dining room service was not good. I felt like as soon as the waiter could get us through he was off for the night. Very rushed and not personable. The Alchemy Bar was the highlight of the trip with outstanding service from Ivana.

Ship tip

If food is important to you plan to spend the extra money on Scarlets.

So the MDR service was bad. Was the food good? We've noticed in recent years the service has went down due to lack of staffing but the food has remained excellent. Hopefully it's excellent on this ship when we cruise. Thanks for the review!
