Review summary

This was my first cruise, and absolutely loved every minute of it. Was very impressed with the room size and storage in each state room. the ship seemed very clean and well maintained. From embarking to dismemberment everything felt very organized. The crew did an amazing job moving 2800 people on and off the ship. Definitely look forward to another cruise!

Cozumel has become our favorite port for shopping and relaxation in the Caribbean among several ports we really enjoy for many reasons. After several stops and excursions at Cozumel we were beginning to feel like it was getting old. Then we discovered Pancho's Backyard, Los Cincos Soles, an embroidery shop on wheels and making the port a relaxing stop with great food, live music, and delightful Carribbean breezes at Pancho's Backyard. There is also live music, Mayan ritual dancing, and a bit of tequila sampling all through the 2 ship ports to offset the calories from the huge margaritas at Pancho's:-) We do a lot of shopping for ourselves, friends, family, and co-workers at the 2 cruise ship ports and downtown San Miguel. We try to support the local industries, not buying textiles available at discount stores at home. Note of caution: If you are speculating on jewels, jewelry, or contraband such as Cuban cigars, etc., remember several lessons from W. C. Fields and instead just have fun and purchase for enjoyment and you will do well.

We are leaving on Sept 28th for a 4 day with friends who've never cruised before! Cannot wait! Can you still taste tequilas when your walking thru the Cozumel shopping area right off the boat?

thinking I'm glad I wasn't on the dismemberment cruise! Lol. Glad you enjoyed it. Our first was in May, and we've booked our next one for June.

Congrats on making the decision for your first cruise. Every one gets a little easier to plan, but never a guarantee due to fellow passengers. Enjoy your next adventure afloat.
