Review summary

Everything about The Valor was great. I recommend this ship to anyone and if you like comfort get a suite. The staff, food and entertainment is perfect.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I had priority boarding and was on the ship within 15 minutes of arriving at the gate.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was awesome but the main dining wasn't what I expected when it came to variety. I personally didn't find anything on the menu that really stood out. The crème Brule - the custard was runny (should be thick) and the caramelized sugar was thick (should be thin). But I still enjoyed diner with the staff. The buffet was perfect, Guys Burgers...you can't go wrong there. My favorite was the Seafood Shack...OMG the lobster rolls are amazing!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was plenty of activities to do. As adults we all slide down the slide, played bingo, spent money in the casino, had a massage, enjoyed the library where there were board games and the pool on the back of the ship was kid free.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was GREAT! The shows, the game shows, the deck parties, St. Jude's dance party, the trivia/dance party in the atrium. I really enjoyed the entertainment that the performers gave.

Children's Programs

Everyone in my party was over 18 years old

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
My steward LaLaine was fabulous. She was on top of everything. Every time I would see her she would ask me if I needed anything and if I was enjoying the cruise. Our waiter in the main dining was super friendly and knew the menu inside & out. He danced & even taught my daughter the dances they were doing. The staff at guest services was just as friendly and very helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was clean! I would even see the staff dusting in the early morning and constantly clearing off tables. The décor was interesting because we were on a July 4th cruise & this ship just happen to be decorated with presidents up and down the atrium. The karaoke bar décor was a little weird, the mannequins were wearing banana skirts but overall the décor was nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Lots of storage. The size was well worth the cost. I really liked that I had an extended balcony and that the vanity was separate from the bathroom. The cabin was very clean. This may sound silly but I wish there was more than one trash can. I know from now on I'll always stay in a suite.

Ship tip

If I could give one tip it would be to bring a power strip (no surge) or and extended outlet. There is one outlet in the cabin & one outlet in the bathroom. If you have girls that use straight irons, cell phones, computers, iPads etc this will come in handy.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was fairly easy. We chose to carry our bags off the ship. We had passports so the lines were a little shorter. However, remember no matter what you have to fill out a customs form rather you purchased something or not.
