Review summary
Overall, I had a great trip aboard the Carnival Valor, but mostly because of the people I was with. I was not impressed with the quality or selection of food at all, and the service in the dining rooms was slow. However, we enjoyed the meals because of the people we were with. Also, the Deli on board was consistently good, as was the 24 hour pizza and ice cream. Sushi every day from 5-8:30 was also a good way to snack and people watch before dinner. The best place to be at night was the piano bar. Plenty of people gathered around to sing good songs and have fun. The club/disco was only crowded a few of the nights. Three of the nights the Valor offered 'R' rated stand-up comedy shows. The comedians were great and the midnight start time was fun and appropriate, especially since our dinner ended too late to attend the 10:30 shows. The spa/gym facility on board was also nice; however, the showers were often out of soap and the sauna and steam room always required a staff person's attention to get it to work properly. Overall, I recommend the Valor if you're looking for value, but not if you're looking to be pampered with great food and quality service.Pros: The Piano Bar, and spa/gym facility.
Cons: The food was far from excellent and the service was consistently slow.
