I would maybe consider cruising on Carnival triumph once it is redone. But I would have like to know that there would be no entertainment or shows. This was the worst cruise I have been on.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
This was longest line we have ever had to wait in. It seemed like there was a very good process and a lot of chaos. There could have just been something better for this process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food itself was great. Fabulous like always.
When I pay to go on a cruise I don't want to be sat with another family whom I don't know. It was extremely uncomfortable to go to dinner the first night to see we were sharing a table with another family. It was just not a very pleasant experience whatsoever. I will always pick anytime dining from now on so I know I won't have to sit with another family.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
This was the last voyage of Carnival Triumph and you could tell. Stuff was run down and not well maintained and I don't know if it was because they knew it was getting tore out or not. But it was pretty awful.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
There was NO entertainment. This was the only cruise that I have been on that there wasn't a show or something to go to in the evening. There was the nightly movies which my kids enjoyed but if I wanted to go to a movie I would have stayed home and gone to a movie. This was the worst part of our cruise as there was not a lot of fun activities that were planned. Not a fan of this whatsoever. I was very disappointed.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
Our littles loved going to the children's area to play and be checked in.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
The only staff that we really enjoyed was the guy at the Pirate Pizza, and the children's workers. Otherwise the staff was terrible. We have been on 2 cruises before this and didn't want to leave. The last cruise we went on I cried when I had to say good bye to our dinner staff. I was more than ready to leave this cruise and just go home. The person who cleaned our room did not seem to care other than saying hello. In the past our stewardness knew our name and came by several times just to say hello. Our waiter staff was very pushy and the first night we barely got to look at the menu before being asked what we wanted to order. It was just not as fun as it had been in the past. We were very disappointed.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
It was a very grimy ship. Things were clean but you could tell there was not much effort of making sure the ship was tip top.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin had been redone and was nice. It was clean and layed out well.
We had an excursion. Pasion Island by Power Catamaran. The trip to the island was ok. It was long and bumpy. Not much you can do about that. The island was clean and had beautiful beaches. The food was ok. There was some variety but not all that was described. There wasn't many choices for the kids except french fries and fruit. It was authentic mexican food and I enjoyed what I had to eat but my kids are pickier.
There were no entertainment or shows!? I'm not sure about that. I have read reviews for this EXACT cruise and no one mentioned it. If it was the last cruise for triumph I had a friend on it and he had pictures of shows. You may have just missed them
