Review summary

We will see definitely look at other cruise lines before considering Carnival again! Terrible first experience and very disappointing overall. We hoped and paid for better!

Ship was late, chaos ensued! Over 3 hours in line without water, food or explanation! Only offered a $15 comp... We list far more in cost than this!

I was on that cruise. I had no problem with the last leaving we just spent the day in New Orleans but as for as the ship and everything on it it was just boring. And I have been in about 9 and never had the same problem so dogging someone for there point of view is wrong.

Majmom96 In response to your post; based on what they posted under 'Embarkation', they went in with a negative experience. The cruise the previous week on Triumph was cancelled due to the propulsion system. They had to dry dock it in Alabama to fix it. It then sailed back to N.O and arrived 3 hours late which resulted in the delay embarkation. What's funny is there it was on the news (and I live in New York) and Carnival sent out emails stating that their was the delay in the arrival back. Either the Op didn't get it, read it or something. From that point on it sounded like their opinion on almost everything after was negative.

Going on Triumph for the first time in 20 days. Can’t wait to see for myself. I do understand that if it’s mechanical, there is a chance of it breaking down. Have sailed on Norwegian, and know what to expect on a cruise, a good time. Agree that the poop cruise statement is getting tired.

Sorry you had a bad experience, but it is an older ship! Try newer ships don’t give up!!

Not sure about your cruise on the Triumph but we went last April and we had a blast. None of the problems you had. And the poop cruise thing, really?? Good ship and every ship has it's faults and problems smh.

Each cruise line offers something for different taste. Carnival is one of the cheapest. Celebrity and Princess appear to be more up scald. Although I did enjoy carnival and am going carnival again I enjoyed the royal princess the best as a ship

Please elaborate on what went wrong, then people can offer suggestions on alternate ships or cruise lines that may better meet your expectations. 🍸

You did pick an older ship; maybe try one of the newer ships Breeze or Vista. You should of received an email and update on the late arrival being I saw it on the news the day prior to your sailing that the ship was experiencing propulsion issues.

Could you elaborate on what went wrong ? Sorry you had a bad experience. We have been on the triumph twice, and though the ship is a bit outdated the crew more than made up for that. I see it was your first cruise so please try it again. It is a wonderful experience good luck.
