Review summary

This was our second carnival cruise. It was so much superior to the first one because there wasn't loud announcements and late night partying in the halls. Cruise director was one of the best we've had. People were very friendly and courteous. This cruise upped our opinion of Carnival cruises. This one wasn't all about partying.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkation was delayed and they kept announcing it would tart momentarily which it didn't. Waiting area was really packed. No explanation of what the delay in boarding was caused by and no apology for it once on-board

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food choices and quality was as good as expected. Really liked the hamburgers and dinners in dining room.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the trivia and other games including many board games and puzzles. Grandson really enjoyed the 3 fast waterslides and pool area. Games like fuzz ball, pool, chess, and miniature golf were also a hit.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed evening entertainment in theater except for lights glaring in my eyes. Singers and dancers did many evening shows. Illusionist was excellent.

Children's Programs

Grandson didn't participate in program. He found plenty to do on his own without bewing part of the program.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was good but could have been better. Dining room staff may have too many tables as service was slower than would like. Dinner usually took 1.75 hours.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was excellent but the ship layout was somewhat confusing. Great number of elevators and speed of service.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Size of cabin was great. However, there was plenty of room for a chair and end tables at bed but there were none. Shower space was better than we've had on other ships. Closet and drawer/shelf space also was plentiful.
