Review summary

We have always cruised in suite staterooms. This is the first time with Carnival because the Captain suite of the Sunshine ship attracted us. The Captain suite is OK although it is still not the same class as the NCL's Heaven suites. I don't think we are going to cruise with Carnival again because of our horrible experience with the embark and disembark.

Embarkation

All suites were squeezed into two small rooms. Although the PA kept saying "priority quests will starting boarding at 11:30 AM", boarding did not start until 11:50 AM. There was absolutely no room to stand in the waiting room.

Our room steward was great. However, I couldn't say the same about the waitress serving us in the main dining room.

Raining in Boston. The old trolley only had one stop at the market place.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Do not take the "Halifax City Tour". The Titanic cemetery visit was boring.

Saint John, New Brunswick

The "Saint John Highlights" was money and time well spent.

Disembarkation

The rating should be "No star". The worst disembarkation we had ever. We made the mistake of asking Carnival to move our luggage we thought there was more than enough time. The New York port personnel handle all the unloading of the luggages. No body can retrieve their bags until all luggages unloaded from the ship. If that was the only problem, I can't complain. They misplace one of our bags to a different group. You can imagine trying to find your bag among hundreds of similar looking ones. I eventfully found our misplaced bag after 50 minutes of searching. The end result was missing our 11:30 AM jetBlue flight from JFK to LAX. We had to wait in the airport for 8 hours to board the next available flight.
