The food quality was 100% better than our last Carnival cruise we were on. When you catch up to Princess cruise line on the handling of guests with food allergies you will have jumped to the head of the lines for cruises.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
We were there in plenty of time and we stood around for 1.5 hours waiting for the boarding by zone to get started. Very poorly designed and executed.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Wife has food allergies and communication in English on food concerns took way more effort than it should have. Nationals from other countries have a hard time understanding issues and concerns about food. If my wife gets any gluten in her food she will be sick for a week or longer with flu like symptoms we cannot take chances and need to have assurances that her interests are taken care of and we can enjoy and trust food allergy handling and preparations are covered and understood.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We like the shows and the overlap of the shows to the meals was not convenient to be in first seating and still make the show. Therefore it forced us to leave the meal early or attend the much later show, not helpful.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
When we could get to the show and find a seat, which was often difficult, The shows were very good. The logistics of meal time and show time were difficult.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Language barrier mainly the ability for the crew to understand complex terms about food allergies and the handling of food.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Seating in the lounges was in short supply throughout the ship. It was always hard to find an available seat.
Cabin / Stateroom

good size and comfort. it was keep clean
Ship tip
Decide what is more important your dinning or shows you want to see, because one will be shortened.
Easy to get around and going on our own cost us $8.20 for both of us round trip by ferry to the same island that carnival had the excursion of $90.00 per person because of the Lobster lunch. we had lobster on the ship why pay for it on an excursion?
Again we did not use the carnival excursion for $70.00 per person. We did the City bus tour to the same locations for $25.00 each. The excursions by carnival were costly and not competitive.
What does Princess do that is different than Carnival regarding food allergies? I've heard nothing but praise for Carnival's commitment to helping those with allergies.
