Review summary
While this is my second cruise on the Sunshine in under thirty days, I encountered the same issue again with not getting lost or stolen items returned.
Both a pair of eye glasses and my cell went missing and Carnival claims they couldn't be located. The Sunshine set sail again on the 17th of September and on the 18th my phone was used off the cost 0of New England so someone on the ship has my phone.
I can only assume it is a crew memeber since I doubt another passenger repeated the trip.
I am returning to the Sunshine on October 1 for my third and final Carnival cruise EVER. It is a little costly when on two cruises very expensive items go missing and can't be located when the ship was informed exactly where to locate them.
Sadly, there are photos of my dead Mother and Dad on that phone which can't be replaced. I really hope that whoever has my phone and the two pairs of eyeglasses that were returned to Guest Services yet they claim they never received, even when the lady who found them verified they were returned to a specific Guest Service guy my glasses and very expensive frames disappeared.
It is terrible that you have to worry about cruise crews making off with an expensive phone and expensive eyeglasses.
This will definitely be my last Carnival cruise on October 1 and I will make sure I tell everyone I know not to cruise with a company of thieves.
I left the ship at 8:10 am and realized I didn't have my phone that was on the bed at 8:15 so where did it go in under 5 minutes? That question answers itself. I do have to say that the Lady on the docks Judy D was very prompt in trying to locate the phone and was somewhat taken aback it was reported that the phone was not on the bed as I said. Thank you Judy D for your help.
If I didn't have a third cruise in 2 months planned with my sisters on the Sunshine I would never cruise with Carnival again. Too many losses to be a coincidence.

Ship tip
Watch where you leave your personal belongings like phones etc. They pick up napkins etc with no care as to whether they are picking up personal property too. Havana Bar is the worst. Twice my roommate had to chase her cell that was removed off the table in a napkin. Theft not coincidence I THINK

Thank you for your suggestions, but I have reached out to corporate guest services on all accounts.
On the subject of the phone I got a return call in less than 1 hour saying phone could not be located. This was from someone on the ship who responded. They took only one hour to even look for it when it held such important info. I don't think anyone bothered. They just replied right after they received the corporate request to look for the phone.

Wish I could offer additional suggestions for the return of your phone and glasses. Maybe you could try contacting the corporate office especially regarding your sunglasses actually being turned in to Guest Services. Some type of compensation may be available...it's worth the try.
Hopefully when you cruise in October the Lost Cell app will be able to find your phone. It would be disappointing to know that a crew member was responsible for your stolen items. I certainly do hope that you able to locate your items.

You are right I shouldn't assume, but I am not. The phone was left in the cabin upon debarking. Only staff and crew could enter the room. The ship set sail the same day for a repeat of the New England cruise I just got off of, so the only person that would be sailing the same route would be crew.
The phone was tracked by my lost cell app and AT&T and it was located between NYC and Boston on the 18th. I left the ship on the 17th. So please, if you have any suggestions how to get my cell back, that is going on a New England cruise without me, let me know.
A phone is just an object but for me it is my life. My treatment plans, times to take what drugs and in what order are all on that phone.
The schedule went out for 6 months and change daily so it wasn't just a phone it was my life.
I too have sailed on Carnival 4 times within the last 5 months and am very upset by their lack of concern with the loss.
as for my lost glasses, the women who found them brought me to the guest service desk and informed them she turned them into them and couldn't understand why they didn't have them. The frames were $1000 frames, let not even talk about the cost of the prescription lenses. They were a gift from my Mom and since she has passed they can't be replaced. The same holds true for the photos of both my parents on the cell that was taken. They can't be replaced.
I am open to any suggestions though as to how to get the phone etc back. Since you are a frequent cruiser maybe you have a suggestion I haven't thought about.
I will be on the Sunshine on the first of October again and AT&T and I am my Loss Cell app will be trying to find the phone. I really hope it is not with a crew member. I hate to think badly of people but it has since been located in Portland and St,. John the cruise route.

Your experience is alarming and I certainly understand being upset. I have sailed with Carnival numerous times and fortunately never had anything stolen. I wouldn't necessarily assume that it was someone from the crew. Ships are sailing with thousands of passengers some of which I'm sure lack honesty or integrity.
I certainly hope that your next cruise on Sunshine is without incidence and that you'll have a great time with your sister.
