Review summary

please let guest know that although you can bring wine, you cannot put in your luggage you must carry on with you. My bottle of wine was taken , and this was the first cruise I ever brought my own wine so I was not happy about this.

Clearly posted on carnival that it has to be in your Carry on luggage and no more than 750 ml I believe.

Cruise lines post the policy on wine in the cruise documents and the website. Also, airlines have clearly posted rules about this.

Anything that has value you should never put in checked luggage. Most lines tell you that in their FAQS on what wine you can bring onboard and while many have no issues, it only takes a couple of dishonest folks to ruin your trip. Over the years on airlines I have lost electric shaver, Leatherman tool, and a few other items.
