Review summary

OVERALL Boarding was smooth and easy this time, from time we dropped or bags, to being on board took about 15 minutes. The Carnival Triumph ship was transformed to the Carnival Sunrise adding 2.0 upgrades adding Cucina del Capitano, JavaBlue Café, Fahrenheit 555 Stake house, Bonsai Express, Cherry on Top, Guy’s Pig and Anchor and Lido upgrades. Serenity Retreat was enlarged and lots of open spaces on the. All this took place prior to COVID but hasn’t sailed much since then and it looks brand new. Red frog pub seams to be the most popular gathering place inside, and lido deck was always full. COVID COVID tests and Mask were required. Majority of the guest and all employees adhered to the requirements. SHIP LIFE/ PORT of CALLS This cruise consisted of three ports, Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Bimini. The 1st night we had a thunder storm yet the seas were calm and the sunrise was spectacular. Nothing like a “sunrise on the Sunrise”! it was Sunday most shops and were closed in Nassau so we stayed on board and enjoyed our time relaxing on the balcony. After dinning we made the stage show in the Main Show Lounge. Now this was diffidently different but was fun to watch and good music. Next day we arrived at Half Moon Cay. It has and still is one of the most beautiful and best beaches I have ever ben to. Yes, we rented a clam shell and two chairs not that we used them for anything other than a place to park our stuff. They sale 6 pack of beer in a cooler bag pay for it with sail and sign card. On the beach you could only purchase one type of bear in the bag so I made my way to the bar and purchased my bag and had two different types in it. Self-service pays off. I do plan to return with my bag next time and see if I can get a discounted refill. As for the entire island it seams to have had a face lift, food service area looked new, more amenities along the beach. Day three Bimini. This is the second time we have ported in Bimini and DW was not walking well so we decided to relax on board for the most part. I did get off and take the tram around the island with a stop at the Bimini Beach and Bar. What a beautiful beach, $10 beer was expensive. I do think I will return and spend some time on the beach next time. Tram ride was enjoyable it gave me a good overview of the island. Night time was a B2B Comedy club. “Dale Jones” had me laughing/crying for 40 minutes if you ever get a chance go to his shows it a must. Dining On this Cruise we decided not to visit many of the specialty dinning venues and return to assigned time mining at 6:00AM. It was a pleasure to have an assigned table 321 with the same Service Team for every meal. ROOM: 7396 Balcony Room on Port. Carnival Sunshine room had a tough time trying to exceed expectations because we debarked the Mardi Grass a week ago. With that said our room was in excellent shape, clean and the room steward Stewart Rabbi was 5Star. We didn’t follow the new COVID protocols by waiting to go to our room till 1:30 PM. We, like diamonds guests use to do, entered the room as soon as we got on board and dropped our carryon bags in the closet. Rabbi met us in the hall and we informed him of our deposits. Robbi catching us in the hall could have been a blessing because he would have mistaken our bags for left behind and taken them to gest services. Our bad! It all worked out this time but a lesson for future cruises. SPECIAL NOTE Captain Bruno Palomba VIFP Diamond Party in the Red Frog Pub was special. Only 17 Diamond guest aboard making our time with the officers more personal. The officers made us feel like family and answered a lot of questions. Our conversations with the Capitan and Ivaylo Hristov Hotel Director is/was unforgettable.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Assign time dining table 321 at 6:00 PM. Team Head Waiter Arniel, Team Waiter Kadek and Asst Team Waiter Dom Dom “Spider Man”. This team had it all together and worked as a team. Always greeted us by name, took the time to bring the glass of wine before the meal, made sure the order was correct. Dom Dom made the last night fun with his spider man suit. Set a high standard for dining teams on future sailings.
