Fort Lauderdale Port. Fast and friendly embarkation. Many check in stands and not much fuss. Got on ship about half hour after we got to port. Did pay for faster to the fun but luggage didnt make it to room till after safety briefing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent all around. Lido buffet we did not attempt at anytime. Guys. Bbq. Bowls. Blue iguana. Mdr. Seafood shack. All good and pretty quick turn around. Food was hot and tasty.Check in for mdr anytime dining through hub app was a great new feature and made going to let so much smoother. Omelette stations throughout deck 9 and 10 was a great thing. Very impressed with carnivals food offerings night and day. Chefs table was a great experience! Mdr service was quickest we ever had. Usually done in 40 mins or less. Beer was good. Thought mixed drinks were light unless you made them a double.

Onboard Activities

Party in lobby was a lot of fun. Vintage pop show was really well done. A nice variety of bands on the ship. Comedy club was fun as well and comedian was great.

Service and Staff

Room steward IKadek was great. Kept room tidy and stocked. Everyone seemed friendly and would say hi.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean. Surprised at rust on outside of ship. Very impressed with interior design and newness of the ship. Layout was easy to navigate and elevators worked fast.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
This cabin room 3140 shows up on deck plans like it's a larger room but it is not. We did not think being right next to bathroom was going to be an issue but the ladies room stall doors would slam most of day and evening shaking the tv wall. Besides that. The room had many usb outlets and power and everything was in great shape. I would not recommend this room.

Ship tip

Plan your visits to food areas before or after peak times.

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

4 out of 5
Was disappointed in this port but jamaica is poorer than expected. It pays a substantial amount of its GDP just to The IMF bank in debt service. And although the country is rich in the mineral bauxite used in aluminum, the government only collects 28 cents per tons mined and exported by companies. The coastlines looked beautiful. Our excursion took most of day so not much time to explore. Carnival seems to be cramming port times. The Dunns waterfall was gorgeous but full of people.

George Town, Grand Cayman

We had fun at turtle park and swimming with stingrays. Only downside was time in port which was under 6 hours causing a huge line of people trying to get back on ship. Our bus driver Mel was great! The boatride to the stingrays is about 35 minutes each way but was really worth it! Last time we were in Caymen the ship was in port for 8 hours and no lines to get on tender.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Really liked ft Lauderdale area. Clean and close to southwest flights and cruise ship terminals.

Disembarkation
