Overall the cruise was an OKAY cruise. Service was not as good as usual renovations were not as impressive. Camp was great my kids had fun. Entertainment was okay, not much music entertainment by the pools.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Very easy, thought it would be hectic leaving out of NY but embarkation was smooth
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
This is my 4th carnival cruise, have never had a complaint but this time around was definitely not like the others. Food was cold sometimes, tacos were disgusting, in the main dining room I felt like we were being rushed. The service was not as good as usual and neither was the little show they do a dinner. An issue I had with the drinks was that I’m pregnant and still had to pay full price for the cheers drinking package. I understand that you’re able to get other drinks with it like coffee and soda, but I’m not a coffee drinker (and coffee is free on the lido deck) and as for the soda the bubbles package which is a fraction of cheers would’ve been better for me! I get that all adults need to get the drinking package in a room but I think exceptions should be made for pregnant woman who obviously aren’t going to drink alcohol.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
I felt as if there weren’t many activities as usual. The pools were actually great they weren’t as packed as usual but it might have been because of the bad weather. The obstacle course was closed the entire time and we were excited to do that.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Shows were ehhh not as interesting as the others I’ve been to. Comedy show was hilarious so 5 stars to that, we went to the PG one with our kids and they loved it they were laughing the entire time also!
Children's Programs
2 out of 5
Children’s club was great! I read earlier reviews about there not being toys but the first night we went to see the children’s club and it was very clean and stocked with toys. The camp supervisors are great also, they know the kids by name and are always nice.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Definitely not the 5 star treatment we usually get on a carnival cruise. Everything was rushed. The room stewards were great though 5 stars to them!
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Even with the repairs you can tell that it’s an older ship, rust everywhere which is expected. What I did not expect was for the bathroom to smell as bad as it did, from the moment we walked in this awful smell of urine and feces was lurking, also smelled it on the lido deck near the restrooms and in other common areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Size was comfortable for my family of 4. Steward always made sure the room was clean and that we had enough towels. We had a fridge which was great we were able to store the baby’s milk. Everything was great except the bathroom smell and you could only smell it when the toilet lid was up.
