Overall was above average, probably due to where we were! Alaska is special !!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Ok,but all the hoops we jumped through were more than tedious !!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Seemed less quality than we are use to on Carnival !! Seemed to be nickel and diming us. No full baskets of bread for our table, barely enough cocktail sauce for one shrimp on the shrimp cocktail. The overall quality of the buffets just seemed off to all of us in our group. These all might be trivial must multiply this by thousands of guest and it adds up for the corporation not the consumer!!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Comedy and Dance shows,Pool use nice having heated pools on an Alaskan cruise! These venues were alright and on par with what have seen on Carnival.
Entertainment

All good for us !!
Service and Staff

Little below the norm in main dining room, but still adequate! Jocko room steward did a very nice job and greeted us by our names made us feel good.
Ship Quality

Spirit is an older ship but she still is holding her own as a worthy vessel!!
Cabin / Stateroom

Normal quality of room was good, but the location was terrible we were below lido deck and the on deck party was right above us. The bass on the music and the stomping on the floor was like nothing I have witnessed on all other cruises . If you partake in the party it should be no problem but if you are in bed by 10 or so trying to get rest for your long next day it was horrendous, especially when the song jump was on it would have registered on the earthquake scale.
Effortlessly, really helped with us catching our plane flight, bus transportation from port to airport was very good through carnival. Driver did audio tour on our way and did a good job through traffic. Earned himself a tip from us.
Pinkie,I know you were on Spirit before us and always look at your reviews for a gauge on what to expect. As you noted first time cruisers would think it was great, but as a veteran as you are and us having a few under our belt we did notice subtle changes to the less. Also even with all the protocols of prior testing and precautions there was alot of people hacking and coughing. I think with travel to Seattle and the on and off at the ports people were getting sick. Could be covid could be common colds but there is an issue with it,but if vax and strain change regulates to a cold type deal I guess we and the cruise industry can deal with it.
