Carnival Spirit

7 Night Alaska (Seattle Roundtrip)

Sail date: July 03, 2012

Ship: Carnival Spirit

Cabin type: Oceanview

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

The Carnival Spirit is a pretty ugly ship inside. Feels like a cross between a run down Applebee's and a under-funded theme park. The quality of the crew, service and food were the only saving graces.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
As far as cruise food goes\, it was as expected and didn't impress.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Simply terrible\, not just for a cruise either. The music performances were awful. It was like watching college understudies performing. The Michael Jackson tribute was terrible. The cruise director was an embarrassment to the show and made me feel insulted as an audience member.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great quality crew. Very hospitable and friendly.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Decor is cheap\, ugly and dated. Too many themes going on: Egyptian\, French\, Roman\, modern\, and fantasy - just confused\, ugly and made the experience on board feel cheap.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Clean\, well maintained and had the expected amenities. The decor was dated and had ugly fluorescent lighting\, but otherwise was what I expected.

Pros: Crew

Cons: Entertainment\, entertainment options\, and ship decor.
