Review summary

You get what you pay for!!!

I had booked a Grand Suite and fell for the false advertisement. The run down ship was never kept up to the cruising standards that I had expected. I tried to make it nice for my daughter's 21st birthday, but backfired in every respect if you don't want to hang out with drunks the entire day and be part of a sleezy college party and smelling an overflowing ashtray everywhere you go. I am well travelled and had to realize the hard way that there are worlds apart between cruise lines and truly I should have stuck with Norwegian, Royal Carribean, Disney, MSC etc. ! I am  not a complainer, but I feel betrayed by false advertisement and just wished I could erase that week out of my life. After all I called  Carnival up and talked to a representative and expressed myself which turned out to be worthless, since no file was opened on board. Kind of hard when you have to wait for hours at desk services!

Cabin / Stateroom

bathroom had a lot of fungus, broken mirror, simply run down and not maintained. The balcony was filthy and still had old food from previous customers. I am a medical professional and the room presented a very unhealthy environment for my daughter and I.

Ship tip

Avoid the Carnival Sensation!

Excursion was cancelled. Was able to explore the Island though. Lovely people and Island atmosphere. US Dollars are widely accepted. Went to the 7 miles Beach at the Royal Palm hotel.

You're daughter's 21st birthday was ruined by drunken youths partying at sea? I'm very sorry to hear that!

it is Spring break on THE FUN SHIP for a short "Party Cruise"......... and it sounds like that is what you got.

sorry you chose that week to cruise :-(

Twangster hit on the head. Short cruises on older ships are definitely "you get what you pay for".

At least your vaca is over and you are back at work now and don't have to worry about it anymore!

I agree with the other posts, our first cruise coincided with spring break, we enjoyed it as we knew no different. We were shocked because we thought cruising was for the 'geriatric' generation until then. The youngsters were a bit of pleasant surprise as we'd anticipated seeing Zimmer frames & nurses. We tend to avoid March Caribbean cruises these days...

Spring break is not narrowed down to Carnival only. It's everywhere. Can't blame Carnival for that. Was the food bad? The shows bad? The ports bad? Did you file complaints onboard?

Unfortunately it's that time of year for Spring Break ☹️ From what I have seen it really doesn't matter which cruise line you choose this time of year. I'm sorry your vacation wasn't fun.

Suite guests have a dedicated line at guest services. Drunk college students have infiltrated many cruise line in March. Bad time to take a short or less expensive cruise (forget what you paid for a suite, base price for cruise).
