Agree with LisaKitty, unfortunately Carnival has a “party ship” reputation. Probably not the best for a first time cruiser and certainly not for short 3 or 4 day cruises! Sorry you had a bad experience.

The 3 and 4 day cruises on Carnival tend to be "booze cruises". Mostly younger people looking to party and get drunk. Lots of bachelor/bachelorette parties and milestone birthdays. I would definitely try cruising again, but maybe a different line (Princess, HAL, and Celebrity come to mind) and a slightly longer itinerary.

Maybe try a different cruise line. We’ve been on 10 cruises and loved them all. Cruising is the best vacation ever!
