Review summary

I wanted to take a short weekend escape but failed to consider it was too close to Spring Break, although not all the loud guests were typical school/college age. Lesson learned, I'll rent an AirBNB with a pool or near the beach next time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation went smoothly, fairly routine.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR was a bit hit or miss. Meal was fine one night, not so great the next. The only consistency was the great service provided by the wait staff. Selections at the buffet were limited, which was a bit disappointing. Some ships seem to be handling the supply chain issues better than others, or maybe this was an "off" time for this particular cruise 🤷🏽‍♀️. One bright spot, Shaq's Big Chicken lived up to the hype, absolutely delicious 😋

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

This app wouldn't let me review under venues so I'll leave it here. The Limelight Lounge is a rather small, multi purpose venue which hosts the Punchliner Comedy Club. It tricky to get to as it's tucked away in an area off the beaten path. Some guests were loud and talking over the female comedian, a couple of guys in separate parties were heckling her to the point of rudeness and seemed to want to be the focus of the show. She was able to handle them, but I've never witnessed such rudeness at a comedy show before. Totally unacceptable behavior. Unfortunately, raucous guest behavior seemed to be the overall theme on this cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The wait staff in the main dining room were great. The cabin steward also provided excellent service.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Would like to have seen more enforcement of guest handwashing in the dining areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
No problems with the cabin itself, just the noisy neighbors down the hall raising holy hell until the very wee hours. Who goes on a cruise to argue all night???

Ship tip

When you're sailing with guests from hell, try to find something enjoyable about the cruise anyway. Don't let them ruin it for you. I believe this type of behavior is more common on the 3 day cruises, although I must say I've sailed 3 day Carnival cruises a few times and have never experienced this level of rowdiness. I guess I need to take into consideration what time of year it is next time...

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
No issues, fairly quick.

We were on the 4 day on May 30th and there were some rowdy guests as well. We had someone come to our door, bang in it hard and run off laughing.

It's always been a rowdy crowd out of Long Beach. It seems the 3 day attracts young people and bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Appreciate your feedback. It seems there are more reviews with rowdy passengers (not all on Carnival). People just seem more rude these days, because there is no accountability (maybe???). Glad you had a positive attitude and managed to mostly enjoy your cruise.
