Review summary

The radiance looks good and I’m glad she got the work that she needed. It is a good little ship to sail on the a fun little weekend cruise. Happy sailing!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was really fast - showed them all my paper work and went thru security scan and then sat and waited for my section to be called, which was like 5-10 minutes later. I found out there was less than 900 people onboard. It felt more like a deserted hotel than a cruise ship. The ship did seem so empty. My arrival appointment time was 11am-11:30am and I drove and parked in the parking structure next to terminal. Parking is $23 per day, so I paid $69 for Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet is really small and did have a few gluten free options. The dining room was good. I did not try any specialty restaurants. I’m not a foodie. I have celiac disease and it is a pain in the ass.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
It was too cold and windy out for the pool and the jacuzzis are not hot enough. I did play bingo. The spa is open, but I did not go. The spa people were on deck 9 trying to get people to go to the spa. If you like trivia, you will have trivia galore. The hero’s lounge is where I watched the football games.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
They have outdoor movies on lido. They have 2 shows (I did not go to them) live music on deck 3 atrium bar. Love and marriage show, that was fun. They have an ‘80’s glow deck party on Saturday night and they had a white deck party on Sunday night. Elegant night was Saturday night. Groove for st Jude and ice carving on Saturday afternoon. Lots of trivia games, comedy shows too.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Carnival’s crew is always great. Ryan rose is the CD. No problems with anything.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
You see people cleaning all the time. Clean ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was on deck 7 aft starboard cabin 7405. No problems. Balcony room. They have a radiance inaugural book in the room that my room steward said I could keep, but I left it in the room. I was bummed that the pin was not a radiance inaugural pin. Oh well.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
I debarked at like 7:30am and walked right off. Even the debarkation seemed deserted. I walked off the ship, no one else was in the terminal, so customs was a breeze!! Walked to my car, pulled out and paid my fee and I was on the 710 fwy by 8am. I drove straight to work and I beat everyone else to the office, I was the first to arrive before 9am. Traffic was great!

Appreciate your feedback. We enjoy being on a cruise for Super Bowl Sunday, especially when we have a favorite team playing. Glad you enjoyed your cruise and the playoffs.

The review does not show Ensenada. I did not get off the ship, as I was there in November and I wanted to watch football to sea who would be in the Super Bowl. I will be on a cruise super bowl Sunday, I will be able to leave HMC before game starts! Go Rams!!!
