Review summary

Mainly went to be on the first voyage. However there is some major issues that need to be fixed going forward. Ideal for a cheap family vacation though.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Once again LA is by fair the easiest port to do embarkation from. Love sailing from Long Beach.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was ok typical carnival MDR. The buffet had a small section the smallest I have ever seen actually. I think it’s because of all the other food options available that’s included like big checkin and blue pigs and anchor to name a few.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
This ship is packed full with all the amities the bigger carnival ships have but on a smaller scale to get them to fit on a smaller ship. Great way to get a cheap cruise and still enjoy everything the bigger ships have to offer.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
It’s a carnival ship so it’s known for there socializing activities. From trivia to deck parties it is your normal carnival cruise which we all know of.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
I wanted to rate this higher I really do but I have to be honest….. the ship was not finished. After a 200 million dollar refit you would think she would be brand new. Sadly that wasn’t the case. Crew where still working on her during on cruise. I later found out from other passengers that they could tell there cabins where not touched at all during the refit. Some said there curtains fell off or had holes in them. Some said there cabin was very dusty. I noticed not all the trim work was in place. It was kinda entertaining seeing what trim was finished each day lol. The worst thing though and luckily I didn’t have to deal with it in my cabin but there was a major plumbing problem onboard. No water or no hot water. Toilets not flushing or over filling and flooding a cabin. The crew where running around trying to fix everything. Playing a game of wak a mole

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The aft grand suite on deck 5 is amazing. Highly recommend it. However the bathtub is extremely narrow to the point that as an adult it’s impossible to take an actual bath in it.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
It was a train wreck. Once off and in the port it was amazing but on the ship not so much. You can tell the crew is rusty.

My cousin and I are sailing next month to Hawaii. I hope thing are ok by then also. We'll be on the ship for 14 days. This is our 6th cruise. We got hooked back in 2016. Haven't gone on a cruise since 2019. I can't wait :)

Going Monday. Just got our negative test results. Thanks for the honest review. I'll check on the trim work progress.
