Carnival Paradise

5 Night Western Caribbean (Tampa Roundtrip)

Sail date: March 11, 2023

Ship: Carnival Paradise

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Review summary

The cost was not worth the experience, there were additional charges for everything. The advertisement for $250-350 pp is completely false. Add $60/d pp if you’d like cocktails and $10 day/pp if you want soda or bottled water. Otherwise tap water it is!

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food was mediocre at best. Buffet was shut down for long periods of time and by 10am breakfast is over and you’re out of luck. The deli staff were rude and nasty

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Music was great! Provided all genres for all ages

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Not enough live music

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Edso our cabin steward was wonderful! Always cheerful and accommodating

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Needs painting, windows are dirty and foggy. It’s very dark and gloomy in the center atrium area

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Very small, mattresses need replaced, bathroom was a step up from an airplane

Ship tip

Get ready to wait in line for food, like a high school cafeteria

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
Great experience to see this country. The monkeys and glass bottom boats were my favorite

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
The freedom to check out shopping, sit at an outdoor tiki bar and dance or just listen to good music

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Quick and easy. Make sure to have staff take care of luggage. Otherwise you need to haul it around and wait in long lines that morning

Appreciate your feedback. You don’t have to have the drink package or the soda package. Ice tea, lemonade, coffee and water are included in your cruise fare. You didn’t do any homework for your vacation. In this day and age, that’s unthinkable. Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.

The $60 per person cocktail package is not a requirement. If it's not economical, just pay for your individual drinks. The $60 cocktail package also includes soda and bottled water. For free, they have filtered water, lemonade, and tea. Each person is allowed to carry on one 12-pack case of soda. There's a refrigerator inside your stateroom. We did bring some disposal cups and had room service deliver ice to our room each day.

Sorry you didn't enjoy yourself. I'm looking forward to doing the Paradise in May to the Bahamas.
