Review summary

We loved the food, our room, the sauna, the steam room, and the fitness center. We wish the pool was bigger and didn't have a big bar in the middle of it. We wish the entertainment was better. We wish there wasn't so much emphasis on alcohol. We don't drink, yet we were asked every night at dinner even though we said we didn't drink. And my husband was gifted a bottle of wine for participating in the Showdown game.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The activities we enjoyed were the Showdown, Thriller dance class, Family scavenger hunt, 80's glow dance party, and trivia. We missed doing things like ping pong and cornhole tournaments, ballroom dancing, and fitness classes which we have done on other cruises. We also wished the slides had been open longer. They closed at 6pm and it didn't get dark until after 9pm. The library was seriously lacking. I would have liked to see Scrabble, chess, decks of cards, and other family friendly entertainment.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
We were very disappointed in the shows. Just 8 singers in regular clothes sitting on bar stools. No costumes, choreography, dancing, special effects, or special lighting. We tried the piano bar one night as he was attempting "I'm Still Standing". It was not good. The comedian had a few good jokes, but most of his routine consisted of raunchy sex jokes.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
My teens enjoyed the opportunity to get to know other kids their ages (one in 15-17 and the other in the 12-14 group). My 10 yr old tried the Camp Ocean a few times and said it was very boring. Not many activities on board that my 10 year old could enjoy.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The staff were hard-working, polite, and personable.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was surprised how well 5 people could fit in one small room.

Ship tip

Bring a deck of cards and some family games. There were not enough activities to occupy our time and the library was not sufficient in this area.
