Review summary

Worth the money, but I paid very little. The ship feels very dated. The food leaves a lot to be desired. The entertainment could be better. The service is superb.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Embarkation was orderly once we figured out where to go. Better signage needed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food quality was hit-or-miss. Order it medium rare? Get prepared for well done. Staff was wonderful. Dining hours listed on the Carnival Hub App were not reliable.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did karaoke most nights. It was good, but song selection was limited. Several of the advertised activities on the Carnival Hub App didn’t occur.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Didn’t measure up to the quality we found, most recently, on Norwegian.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No complaints whatsoever about the service. It was excellent.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Cleanliness was excellent. Design was dated.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness of the cheapest cabin.

Ship tip

If you like steak medium rare, order it rare; otherwise expect it to be well done. That was the experience of all four in our traveling party.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

2 out of 5
Grand Cayman simply wasn’t that interesting, compared with other islands. Did a combo tour that included Hell- a disappointment - and a turtle sanctuary. Swimming with the turtles was advertised, but not allowed.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Unfortunately, our snorkeling excursion was canceled because of high winds.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Fine

That ship, more like a boat IS dated LOL. I remember on my third cruise, on the Grandeur of the Seas, we docked next to the Jewel of the Seas and I loved its appearance. It was the first Royal Carribbean ship I had seen to have the look of all modern cruise ships since. But of course you get what you pay for.
